about

Hetesi Péter Pál, my good friend and earlier re-starter of the DiSfish net label was a man of many talents. When I met him in 1997 the first time he was a journalist in Hungary.
Soon I found out that he had many more skills of which one was making music. In his own way. A remixer, a samplist. He released a lot of contemporary ambient scapes, often with an angelic angle of incidence.

He was a known text writer for bands like Tátrai Band, Ütött-Kopott Angyal (Battered Angel) and Vadvirágok (Wildflowers Band (Vadvirágok).
Also he was part of the bands Dubstah Sound System and Dhamapada Dub Collective which had several performances on, amongst others, Sziget festival in 2011.

This album that I compiled for him is different from that and shows a wide range of styles holding Klezmer, Dub, Blues, Tango, Ambient, Tribal and many more. Some of this material has been released on ccmixter.org and most likely contains samples from other artists on that forum. Unfortunatly I don't know who, so I can't credit them right now, wherefore my apologies. Yet I don't want to withold this album from you, music lovers.

Two musicians I can credit who collaborated on the songs "Below 142" (Housey Hawke) and "Bingo Baby Babe" (Balla Gergely Mózsi & Housey Hawke).

Dear friend and colleague journalist Ani Horvath writes the following about him:

"Hepepe (nickname) started out at the end of the 80's as a political journalist, but was simultaneously involved with music.

Soon enough he landed the prestigeous post of becoming the rock/ contemporary editor of 'Pesti Musor' Bp's sole entertainment program and critic magazine.

Being in touch with the stars, the contemporary and underground scene's talents he quickly became popular both as a mood-setting conferancie at events and gigs, and as one of the trend-setting songwriters of the early 90's.

He was present at the birth of Sziget Fesztival, handled the initial mass media attention. By 95 he developed an entire conglomerate, the most modern for a festival ever, with the daily 'Sziget Sun' newspaper, radio and tv serving the comfort of music lovers in and outside of the festivals' island."

A little word from KarmaHackeR himself:

"I'm a Hungarian remix artist, journalist, producer, bass guitarist, spoken word poet, lyricist and advanced art blogger and sometimes chill out deejay. I'd like 2 remix my Life. One Loop One Heart."

Hetesi Péter Pál aka KarmaHackeR died on 24 May 2012 at the age of 48 from the effects of a heart attack. On the day of this release he would have celebrated his 51st birthday.

Dear Hepe, although not in physical matter, you are still with us!
Love and respect bro!
