As a music lover closely involved with independent music, artists & net labels I sometimes find the use of the word genre when talking about a track somewhat mis-leading. Sure a genre can help catergorize a track but the term style, to me, is more explanatory.
Dub is a style that can be used in conjunction with any genre in a much wider sense. For me style is, often, a more suitable tag to add to a track. Dub is by it's very nature experimental. It can develop & evolve a track, a sound, a style and indeed a genre. Hence Dub Evolution. With this album I have tried to mix Dub, Techno, Ambient, House, Reggae, Chill, Electronic, World Music and many other styles & so-called genres. I hope I have managed to evolve a sound that is sonically pleasing to the ear, ready for the dancefloor or chill-out zone, perfect for the personal aural space of listening and enjoyment.
All tracks were made using Native Instuments Maschine Studio & Jam hardware. Native Instruments Maschine software. Samplitude ProX 4 Studio. Numerous Vsti instruments & effects. Evolution Midi keyboard. Squire 4 & 5 string bass. Tascam audio interface & a selection of different samples & loops.
I hope you enjoy this journey into Dub Evolution as much as I enjoyed making the album. It took awhile to make it happen but thanks to the wonderful peeps at Dishfish Records, and their help & guidance & encouragement, this album has managed to find it's way into your aural receptors.
Thanks for taking time to listen.
Peace, Love, Justice & Respect.
